About the Blogoir (Blog Meets Memoir)
Divorced Before 30 chronicles my life since August 2006, when I left my husband at age 29. This blogoir is for anyone who likes to explore life’s big questions. It’s not about my miserable marriage, and I won’t bore you with rants about my ex. This is a story about taking life’s disappointments and using them to reassess, to reconnect, to grow, and to prepare for the amazing gifts that wait ahead. And who doesn’t love a story where the 29-year-old protagonist lives in her parents’ basement?

About Emma
I am a 32-year-old Minneapolis-based publishing professional. I was raised in a small town in MinneSOHta but have experienced life in several areas of the U.S. since graduating college in 1999. I’ve enjoyed reading and writing my entire life. I’m told that as a pre-schooler, I liked to write the alphabet backwards—both in forming the letters and in sequencing them. That sounds about right, as I’ve always found ways to add a little creativity to the process. I can be reached at emma at emmawilhelm dot com.

About the Photo
The photo on my blog header is an honest-to-goodness wedding day shot taken on July 3, 2005. What can I say? At the time, I thought it was hilarious—the “dead end” sign symbolizing my last day of freedom as a single woman. I had no idea how accurately this shot depicted my wedding day!
